Our trip back home after spending a couple of days in Singapore was a connecting flight through Malaysia with a layover of nine hours.
Waiting for our flight to Malaysia at Changi Airport Singapore
We immediately hailed a taxi from the airport in Kuala Lumpur to Suria Kuala Lumpur City Center (KLCC) Mall to behold the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. (Travel time: 1 hour, RM100 ~ P1230 by Taxi/Grabcar)
Walking around KLCC Park in Malaysia
The one-hour ride to the Twin Towers already made us get a glimpse of the capital of Malaysia.
We were dropped off at Suria KLCC Mall and immediately went inside the high-end mall to make our way to KLCC Park Exit at the Ground Level.
Still at KLCC Park Malaysia
We walked around the park and took some shots with the iconic Petronas Twin Towers and the surrounding area.
We had Malaysian food for lunch at the Food Court before walking our way out of the mall to queue for a taxi to the Mitsui Outlet Park (MOP) located at Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia. (Travel time: 1 hour, RM100 ~ P1230 by Taxi/Grabcar)
At Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA in Sepang, Malaysia
Our taxi driver became our instant tour guide over our hour-drive to the airport from the Twin Towers as he described to us some places we passed by.
Roaming around the Outlet Park had me find really good deals which made me buy a pair of shoes at the Nike outlet for only around MYR200 ~ Php2,400 and good quality shirts and blouses at their Best Value Outlet (BVO) for around MYR25 ~ Php300.
This BVO blouse has been an overused favorite until today for 3 years now and counting. Don’t mind the food.
Mitsui Outlet Park provides free shuttle rides to and from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). We boarded the scheduled ride to KLIA in the afternoon. (Travel time: 20 minutes, Free ride)
This Mitsui Outlet Park pair of Nike shoes worked with me for almost 3 hours during my Spartan race and traveled with me for days in three different countries.
At Kuala Lumpur International Airport waiting for our flight home.
Malaysia may be my shortest-visited country but it was still a good one as I got to behold the iconic Twin Towers which I only read in my school books growing up. The Outlet Park just gave me a bonus of buying really good deals.

What can you say about my Malaysia trip? 🙂
Malaysia Layover Trip Notes
I visited Malaysia with three colleagues so the cheapest option for us was to take a taxi from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to the Petronas Twin Towers.
Natasha was a full-time banker who got to take a breather when she traveled. She loves the outdoors so much. She is currently in the UK pursuing postgraduate studies!
