Meiji Shrine, Yoyogi Park, and Tokyo Disneysea Day Trip

Yoyogi Park
Spread the love

Disney songs have a special place in the heart of the kid inside me. Just listening to a good Disney song, especially when sung live inside a theater, just oh-so-makes-me-smile and touches my heart.

We allotted our third day in Japan for Tokyo Disneysea and an early morning contact with trees at Meiji Shrine and Yoyogi Park.

Hearing a Disney song still far from the entrance already makes this girl get so excited and smile from ear to ear.

Tokyo Disneysea
On our way to Disneysea!

Disneyland for me means fine, heart-touching shows. The rides, characters, and the themed areas just come second. I think this is because Disney’s imprint on me are the songs.

Tokyo Disneysea
Captain Hook. The only character I had a good photo with at Tokyo Disneysea.

I could still remember crying at how the cast delivered the songs so beautifully during my first Disneyland experience in Hong Kong. I realized that girl from two years ago still cries and gets excited so easily over a fine performance on a Disneyland show.

Tokyo Disneysea
A good weather at Tokyo Disneysea.

We watched the most awaited performance and fireworks at Disneysea. We stayed late for the last show by Ariel Under the Sea at Triton’s Planet before calling it a day.

Tokyo Disneysea
At Aladdin’s Castle

Make the most of your time at Tokyo Disneysea by visiting all themed areas to do the challenging rides, watch the shows, and most importantly, stay until late at night for the fireworks and musical performance.

Wine barrels at Meiji Shrine.

I hugged trees and walked with trees around me early in the morning today. There’s just something with trees, with or without leaves, green or brown, that makes me smile in a way no one or nothing else can.

Use Google / Google Maps to navigate around by specifying your specific location and your desired destination on the search box, e.g. “Asakusabashi station to Hostel East57”, “Nankai Namba station to Fuku Yado Nagomi”, or “Hankyu Arashiyama station to Arashiyama Bamboo Groves”.

  • We only had to bring cash for our meals and fare around the Osaka-Nara-Kyoto region and very few parts in the East which were not covered by our passes.
  • We had to stick to our budget as we only had so much.
  • Our passes and loaded smart cards made us ride the trains and buses conveniently.
  • A pocket wifi is a necessity, it’s your life-saver as you go around Japan.
  • You get to explore more of Japan if you get lost. 🙂

It was also quite fun despite being pretty time consuming trying to find out how to flush when you visit their toilet for the first time.

Japan Toilet
You can play false flushing sounds to overlap some unwanted sounds that you make. 😉

I read and tried to understand all  these characters and drawings around 3 times (and experimented how they work) before giving up and looking elsewhere to find out how to flush. First-timer problems!

Japan Toilet
Flushing is as simple as hovering your hand on the sensor not on your seat but on the wall beside you or behind you. What a good laugh! 🙂
Japan Toilet
Seat cleaners are even available!
